Podcasts have certainly been very popular of late. However, they require syncing your iPod with iTunes on your home Mac or PC. The iPhone, could change the face of podcasting.

The current method of listening to podcasts require you be “tied down” to your home computer in order to listen to your favorite podcast. iPhone would make it dramatically easier to listen and publish podcasts. Software already exists for PocketPC smartphones and Palm Treo smartphones that allows individuals to podcast directly from their phone. It is likely that Apple will build podcast capability into the iPhone. It’s expected the iPhone will function similarly to the iPod, but offer wireless capability. Podcasts are one feature that if included on the iPhone will see tremendous growth.
